Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit luciel.dev. The site is operated by Jhamil Peña, Lima, Peru ("I", "the operator"). You can reach me atjhamil.pcardenas@luciel.dev.

What the site is

luciel.dev is a static website built with Astro. It is served from a single Oracle Cloud ARM server behind a Traefik reverse proxy. There are no user accounts, no forms and no comments on this site.

Data collected

The reverse proxy keeps access logs. Each entry can include your IP address, the URL you requested, your browser's user agent and a timestamp. I use these logs only to operate and secure the service, for example to diagnose errors and detect abuse. They are kept only as long as needed for operation and security, and the log files are rotated by size so older entries are discarded automatically.

If you email me, I receive your email address and the content of your message, and use them only to reply.

Cookies, analytics and third parties today

• The site does not use analytics or tracking tools.
• The root address shows the English or Spanish version according to the language your browser declares in its Accept-Language header; your IP address is not used to choose it.
• If you pick a language in the switcher, the site stores a single first-party cookie, lang, holding that language (en or es) for one year, so it does not switch it back for you. It holds no other data and is not shared with third parties.
• Fonts are hosted on the same server, so loading a page makes no requests to third parties.
• A small inline script switches between the Surface and Depth readings and remembers your choice in your browser's local storage. It sends nothing.

Advertising (planned)

I plan to apply for Google AdSense. It is not active today. If it is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services atpolicies.google.com/technologies/adsand manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Before any ads go live, this policy will be updated and a consent banner will be added where required.

External links and other services

This site links to other places, including GitHub and the separate application at tours.luciel.dev. The tours application is a login-only tool with its own data handling for its client; it is not covered by this policy. Other sites have their own privacy practices.

Your rights

Under Peru's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 29733), you have the right to access, rectification, cancellation and opposition regarding your personal data. To exercise them, write tojhamil.pcardenas@luciel.dev.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

I may update this policy as the site changes, for example when advertising is enabled. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
